William 'Bill' Lowe

William 'Bill' Theodore Lowe, the son of Leonard and Martha (Prentice) Lowe, was born November 7, 1934 in Mallard, IA. His childhood years were spent in Ayrshire, IA, where he received his education, graduating from Ayrshire High School. After his schooling, he entered the military and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. Bill married Marilyn Hynes on August 23, 1958 in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, where he worked at Spencer Foods for 17 years. After the closing of Spencer Foods, he worked as an over the road truck driver for the rest of his career until his retirement. He was an avid hunter & fisherman for most of his life. Bill enjoyed sports and following his grandchildren's events. He coached baseball and softball for many years through the Junior Legion and City League. Bill was also a huge football and wrestling fan and enjoyed backing the Iowa Hawkeyes. He played pinochle with his friends almost every day. Bill passed away at his home in Spencer on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sue 'Stubbs' Brackmann. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn of Spencer; his children: Kevin (Valerie) Lowe of Ruthven, IA, Tony (Marci) Lowe of Eden Prairie, MN, Tamara Gillis of Spencer, Ronald 'Muss' (Brenda) Lowe of Tama, IA and Angela Begley (Kevin Cooke) of Emmetsburg, IA; his siblings: Donna (John) Whitmer of Wheaton, IL, Eddie (Karilyn) Lowe of Tacoma, WA, Pat (F.G) Jones of Plainview, TX, Kay (Charlie) Curry of Burkburnett, TX, Linda (Dale) Maruska of Grand Island, NE and Terry (Virginia) Lowe of Scottsdale, AZ; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin 5:00 P.M., Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
