Spencer

Violet Mae Larm-Mumford was born April 25, 1952. She was born in Royal, Iowa  to Arthur Willam Larm and Stella Mae Willis. Violet passed away suddenly on August 24, 2019.  Violet  has 3 sisters:  Nancy Findling (alive), Pauline (deceased) and Helen (deceased). Violet also had 6 kids: Candi Burbe (Ray Lonnon) , Kim Hurt, Tracie Hurt-Fagervik (Eric Fagervik), Melissa Avant, Travis Hurt (Gina Hurt) and Matt Stewart (Gabby Stewart).  She has 17 grandkids: Brett Burbe, Jennifer Burbe, Tiffany Burbe, Michaela Maggard, Calab Maggard, Caden Maggard, Breana Crane, Janell Crane, Kaylie Crane, Ava Crane, Dominic Avant, Dontea Avant, Austin Biggs, Joslyn Hurt, Nikki Stewart, Olivia Stewart, and one known great grandchild.

In her younger days she loved going to school, hanging out with friends and going shopping with her mom, Stella and sister, Nancy. Some hobbies she loved doing when she was younger were roller skating, going to the movies, going shopping , swimming and watching town ball games with her dad. Some of her favorite childhood memories were making mud pies with the neighbor kids and trying to eat them.  She liked going to the movies with her friend, Linda and getting snacks. She stated that her greatest achievement in life was having her kids and watching them create families of their own.  She valued family time more than anything - it was something that had made her happy.

How Vi wanted to be remembered was being a stubborn ole mule with a spunky personality, witty comments and funny sarcasm. Vi is someone who will be dearly missed by many staff at the Longhouse nursing facility. The staff loved having long talks with her and watching many movies and her favorite show the "Walking Dead" together. She always had nothing but nice and funny things to say about those taking care of her. Violet's family would like to say thank you to the care team at Longhouse for taking care of her and creating memories with her. They would also like to say a big thank you to the Kindred Hospice team who helped her at the end keeping her comfortable and making her wishes come true.
