Tommy “Tom” Clarence Streed passed away Monday April 13th at Spencer Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Tom was born December 24, 1950 in Casper, Wyoming to Orville and Catherine Streed. He graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper in 1969. Tom served as a post office clerk in the U.S. Air Force from December 1969 to December 1973. Tom worked at Sernett’s Department Store as an assistant manager and at Johnson Automotive, until his retirement.
Tom married his wife of 48 years, Jean (Essick), on March 18, 1978. Tom and Jean had two children, Michael (Janelle) Conlin and Suzanne Berg.
Tom enjoyed watching his children play sports, especially watching Suzanne run 400 meter hurdles. He was a Boy Scout leader, where his son Mike was an Eagle Scout. Tom liked hunting deer and pheasant and fishing. He also liked going on family vacations to places like Walker, Minnesota; Casper, Wyoming; and a big family vacation to Colorado.
In the more recent years Tom enjoyed coffee with friends at Sister’s Cafe (he especially enjoyed the caramel rolls on Wednesday), playing Bingo, watching birds, and getting visits from family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jean, and his two children Michael (Janelle) Conlin and Suzanne Berg; grandchildren Alivia (Bubba) Singleton, Carson (Jessalyn) Lensing, Sophia (Hunter Kiesow) Lensing, Wyatt Berg, Ella Berg; great-grandchildren Nevada and Everley Lensing and baby Singleton due in August; siblings Bonnie (Don) Cother, Nancy Noethe, and Judy (Jon) Dougherty; his mother-in-law Ardis Erickson; brother-in-law Russell Essick, and sisters-in-law Chris (Bob) Johnson, Sue (Terry) Parsons, and Kathy Essick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Catherine Streed, grandparents Streed and Essick, father-in-law Swede Erickson, and brother-in-law Raymond Essick.
