Threasa Caroline Brusie

     Threasa Caroline Brusie, the daughter of John and Mary Threasa (Atz) Hoffrichter was born May 11, 1931 in Palm Bay, FL. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, IA, where she attended school and graduated from Spencer High School in 1949.

     Threasa married Richard Wiese on October 3, 1950 in Spencer, IA. To this union they had 5 children. She worked for Clay County Bank, People’s Natural Gas, Pamida, and Spencer Municipal Utilities. She was past Chairman of Care Review Committee, Elder Guide at Northwest Aging, assistant facilitator for Alzheimer’s group. Threasa enjoyed golfing, bowling, home gardening, and playing cards. She married Franklin Brusie on November 28, 1981 in Ames, IA.

     Threasa passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Northshire Residence in Spencer, IA at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Richard in 1962 and Franklin in 1996, 2 grandsons, Casey and Justin Byers, one brother, John Hoffrichter, and one sister, Mary Ann Huss.

     Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Richard (Allison) Wiese of Boone, IA, Michael (Peggy) Wiese of Mankato, MN, James (Mary) Wiese of Mankato, MN, Barbara (Norman) Brown of Ames, IA, and Ann (Bill) Byers of Sioux Rapids, IA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frances (Marilyn) Hoffrichter of Milford, IA and Bernard (Karen) Hoffrichter of Fostoria, IA; one sister, Rita Pierson of Spencer, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
