Ted Gene Rexroat

Ted Gene Rexroat, the son of Clyde Rexroat and Darlene (Stockstell) Seid, was born on January 4, 1957, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended school in Glenwood and Lytton. On June 30, 1976, he entered the military serving in the United States Army. He was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX, and St. Louis, MO. While in the military he received the Rifle Expert Badge. On July 16, 1981, he was honorably discharged. After serving in the military he moved to Muscatine, IA, where he worked as a plumber. Ted moved to Spencer in 1989, where he worked various jobs. Ted enjoyed calling Bingo games at the Senior Center, woodworking and fishing. Ted passed away on February 20, 2006, at a Yankton Hospital following a lengthy illness at the age of 49. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother; one niece, Tina Devitt and one nephew, Matthew Rexroat. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Elizabeth; two sons: Damien and Jacob; his longtime companion, Becky Nielsen; six sisters: Dolly Peters of Columbus, KS, Dee Sutherland and her husband, Rick of Spencer, IA, Sandy Johnson and her husband, Dan of Spencer, IA, Nancy Ryan of Sac City, IA, Pat Kock and her husband, Earl of Rapid City, SD and Eileen McGuire and her husband, John of Somers, IA; two brothers: Joe Rexroat and his wife, Jean of Sac City, IA and Ken McDonough and his wife, Teresa of Winnebago, MN; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
