Shirley Jean Kesterson

     Shirley Jean Kesterson, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Halligan) Sullivan, was born January 6, 1940, in Moorland, IA.  Shirley received her early education and graduated from Moorland High School.

     On March 1, 1960, Shirley was united in marriage to Raymond Kesterson.  Following their marriage, Shirley stayed home and raised their six children.  Later, she worked at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.  In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, dice and cards, watching Wheel Of Fortune, and going fishing.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

     On March 29, 2023, Shirley passed away at her home in Spencer at the age of 83.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; her siblings: Margie (Richard) Stacy, Robert Sullivan, John (Arla) Sullivan, Rosemary (Gene) Thompson and Fred (Karen) Sullivan; her brothers-in-law: Jack (Geisla) Kesterson, Niles Kesterson and Floyd (Connie) Kesterson.

     Left to cherish her memory, are her children: Michael Kesterson of Emmetsburg, IA, Dan Kesterson of Cylinder, IA, Susan Blair of Spencer, IA, Chris Kesterson of Fort Dodge, IA, Matt Kesterson of Laurens, IA and Don (Bonnie) Kesterson of Emmetsburg, IA; 2 sisters-in-law, Evelyn Sullivan of Moorland, IA and Agnes Kesterson of Fort Dodge, IA; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
*In lieu of flowrers, a memorial has been established in Shirley's name.

Visitation will take place Sunday, April 2, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, starting at 2:00 P.M., with family present from 2-4:00 P.M.
