Spencer

Sharon Ann Verner, the daughter of Larry and Wanda (Atkins) Marshall, was born December 9, 1945 in Humboldt, NE.  Her father was a manager for Montgomery Ward & Company and the family moved often before settling in Spencer where she attended school.  It was there she met Robert "Bob' Verner and they married on Novemeber 16, 1964 in Jackson, MN.  Following their marriage, Sharon worked at Sernett's Dept Store and for many years as a cook at Northshire Nursing Home until her retirement.  She had a great sense of humor and brought that to the residents and her coworkers.  She loved planning fun meals, skits, and activities to brighten their days.

Sharon enjoyed movies, music and reading, especially biographies. She was a huge Elvis fan, liked to gamble occasionally and in past years, liked to put puzzles together along with her husband Bob.  She was a wonderful cook and every Christmas she loved giving friends and family trays of homemade cookies and candies. Most of all Sharon loved being with her family and friends and had a special relationship with her Grandkids.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

Sharon passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sx Falls, SD at age of 77.  She was proceeded in death by her husband Bob, her parents Larry and Wanda and a granddaughter Ashley.
