Ruth Marie Jones

Ruth Marie Jones passed away on September 11th, 2026 at the age of 87.

Ruth was born in Milford, IA, to George and Vira (Dewey) Wilbur on Christmas Eve, 1938.

She went to Sioux Rapids Elementary school and graduated from high school in Sioux Rapids, IA, where she played trombone, basketball and was a candy striper.

On October 28, 1956, she married her husband Allan Jones, and became a devoted homemaker and mother.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, games, Bingo, puzzles, cooking, reading, swimming, attending church, participating in the Christian Women group, and was known for her fried chicken, potato salad and cinnamon rolls.

She and Allan, enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and summers in Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Walter, Melvin, Wesley, Julia, Alice and Betty, husband Allan, daughter Sue, son David, and grandson Chris.

She is survived by her son Larry (Karen) of Kansas, Danny (Coleen) of Iowa, Jim (Tonya) of Arizona; grandchildren, Andrew (Josie), Christian, Dylan, Brennan (Jared), Peyton (Spencer), Justin (Aiofe), Matthew (Grace), Ryan and Kate; and great grand children Onnah, Easton, Arya, Adley and Wess.

Her memory will be carried on in those who knew and loved her.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
