Spencer

Ruth Ann Vail, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Heisler) Eaton, was born April 26, 1927 in Greenville, IA.  Her childhood years were spent in Dickens, IA, where she received her education until her junior year when her family moved to Sheldon, IA.      Ruth married John Richard Vail on September 30, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  After their marriage they farmed for 29 years near Sioux Rapids, IA.  They retired from farming in 1984 and moved to Spencer, IA.  She was a past member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she was active with the church circle, BLCW and the Joy Group.  She was also a past member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening and reading.  She also was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Ruth would always be known with a smile and a kind word for all.
