Ruth Lynn Albright, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at Spencer Hospital at the age of 74. Born on May 30, 1952, in Sheldon, IA, Ruth lived a full and vibrant life, ultimately making her home in Spencer, IA.
Ruth was a dedicated mother to three sons, Shawn, Matt, and Chad Albright. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, delighting in the company of her grandchildren: Shawna, Trent, Jaxon, and Katie. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, especially relishing in special Sundays watching NASCAR races with her special needs grandson.
In 1970, Ruth graduated from Spencer High School where she was recognized as an accomplished athlete. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Scott Albright, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. A talented entrepreneur, Ruth proudly owned and operated The Center Café for 15 years, making it a beloved gathering spot for the community in the early 2000s.
Ruth's passions went beyond her career; she was an avid duck collector and an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR, tennis, and the beloved soap opera *General Hospital*. In her free time, she enjoyed playing on her pool league team, fishing, and gardening. Most importantly, Ruth found joy in the shared moments with friends and family, forging connections that would last a lifetime.
