Ronald John Behrends

   Ronald John Behrends, the son of Richard and Marian Behrends was born January 1, 1946, in Algona, IA. His childhood was spent in the Lone Rock, IA area, where he attended school and graduated from Lone Rock High School. He went to Mankato Commercial College from 1963-1964 and graduated in accounting. He served in the Army Reservist from 1965-1971.

   Ronald married Cynthia Schuknecht on September 26, 1965, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Royal, IA. He worked as an accountant at Farm Services in Audubon, IA and later transferred to Spencer, IA. He worked as an accountant for Pixlers and Kerber Milling in Spencer along with a number of other bookkeeping roles. Ron enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards, snowmobiling, drinking good coffee and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

   Ronald passed away on… at home surrounded by family at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia, parents, infant brother (David), brother-in-law Donald Whitman, and sister-in-law Mary Schuknecht.

   Left to cherish his memory are his four children; Wanda (Bryan) Pankratz of Prior Lake, MN, Teresa Mohlis of Garner, IA, Ann Marie (Chris) Phelps of Sioux Rapids, IA, and Kyle (Rachel) Behrends of Eagan, MN; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Behrends of Atlanta, GA and Raymond Behrends of Osage, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
