Robert Dean Frick

Spencer

     Robert Dean Frick, the son of George and Dorothy (Bates) Frick, was born in Osceola County, Iowa on December 25, 1936. He was raised in Ocheyedan where he attended and graduated from high school. Following high school, he worked with his dad on the farm. He entered into the military on November  4, 1959, serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on January 25, 1962 and then served another three years in the Army Reserves. He returned to Minnesota after his military service where he farmed for several years. He then worked at the hospital in Marshall, MN as an EMT and in the maintenance department. He moved to Texas in 1981 and worked at Texas Women’s University as a carpenter. He then returned to Spencer in 2004 and worked at the Spencer Hospital, where he met his wife Hanna. He also then worked at Maurer Manufacturing. After retirement he had really enjoyed doing handywork.   

      On September 6, 2006, Robert married Hanna Campbell in Spencer, IA. After their marriage, they enjoyed their time together visiting family and friends in Iowa, Minnesota and Colorado, as well as being a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He really  enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, watching his fish and birds. He was an avid collector of eagle figurines. He loved the outdoors where he spent time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Some of his favorite times were spent with friends and family and their beagle, Elsa. His most relaxing times were spent at their condo on West Lake Okoboji watching the boats together. 

     Robert passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his home at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert and his brother, Donald.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Hanna of Spencer, IA; his children: Ted Frick (Paula), Janet Janowski (Jay), David Frick (Oksana), all of Hutchinson, MN; Pete Christle of Spencer, IA and Terry Campbell (Tara) of Greeley, CO; 17grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his sister, Roberta Petersen of Hartley, IA; his brothers: Fred Frick (Linda) of Harrodsborg, KY and Carl Frick (Cathy) of Sebeka, MN;  many other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M., September 5, 2020 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion - Glen Pedersen Post #1 and the V.F.W. Clay County Post #3159.
