   Reed Scott, 72, of Hartley, passed away on 8/16/2023 after losing his short battle with lung cancer.

     Reed Eugene Scott, the son of Jay and Delores (Crosser)Scott was born on Feb 28, 1951 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, Iowa where he attended school until the 12th grade. Reed graduated from  Spencer High School in 1969.

     Reed went to college for a year and then worked in the office at The Pack in Spencer, Iowa.  After a little over a year he went on the road as a manager for a Texas Rock and Roll band called “Baby”.  Reed started trucking and owned his own truck until he retired in 2023.

     In 1984, Reed married Tina Sembach in Spencer, Iowa . Reed and Tina went on to have 3 Children; Jarred Scott, Anthony Scott and Cody Scott. They were married for 20 years.  

In 2018, Reed met Connie Rhodes and they dated for 5 1/2 years.  They spent most of their time between Arizona and Okoboji, Iowa.

Reed passed away at Avera in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age if 72. He was predeceased in death by his parents; Delores Scott and Jay Scott and his brother-in-law Ron Heinrich.  

Left to cherish his memory are: his partner; Connie Rhodes of Sun Lakes, Arizona, his sibings; Jason (Jeff) Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jerry Scott of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Janelle Hienrich of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  His 3 children; Jarred Scott of Spencer Iowa, Anthony (Chelsea) Scott of Clarion Iowa and Cody Scott of Dickens, Iowa.  4 grandchildren; Emma Corron of Spencer Iowa, Aiden Jensen, Allison Scott and Austin Scott of Clarion Iowa.

Reed loved many things; Music, convertibles, his 3 sons, dancing, movies, his wonderful and fabulous friends and card playing. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor by anyone that knew him. He kept his sense of humor till the very end with all of his nurses and his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
