Phyllis Louise Schott

     Phyllis L. Schott, the daughter of Morris and Elsie (Syndergaard) Bailey, was born August 17, 1934 in Hartley, IA.  Her childhood years were spent in Royal, where she received her education, graduating from Royal High School.  She continued her education at Cedar Falls for one year.  Phyllis returned to Royal and worked as a waitress and various other jobs.

     Phyllis married Richard Schott on July 15, 1954 in Schaller, IA.  In 1956, they moved to a farm near Royal, IA where they farmed for many years and raised their family.  Following their retirement in the winter of 1989, they purchased a home in Royal and moved to town.  She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, where she was a member of the altar society.  In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and craftwork.

     She passed away at the Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the age of 85.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard (Dick) in 2006, a granddaughter, Kayla Seaman and a sister in-law Kandi Bailey.

     Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara (Dave) Rassler of Spencer IA, Bonnie (John) Speck of Bondurant, IA, Carol (Lee) Seaman of Spencer IA, Sharon (Tim) Weishaar of Blair NE, Mary Jo (Dennis) Skellenger of St Louis Park, MN; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Muriel (David) Lien of Vancouver, WA; 2 brothers: Alan  (Jeanne) Bailey of Modesto, CA and Richard (Bonny) Bailey of Spencer, IA; other relatives and friends.
