Orlando Wayne Wede

     Orlando Wayne Wede, the son of Elmer and Alvena (Peters) Wede was born November 19, 1935 in Hartley, IA. His childhood years were spent on the family farm Northeast of Sutherland, IA. He attended school in Sutherland and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1953.  

     Orlando enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1956. He married Joann Schoenewe on March 17, 1957 in Everly, IA. They lived on the family farm near Sutherland where he was a lifetime farmer. He retired to Spencer, IA in 2006.

     Orlando enjoyed trips to Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV and spending time with family. He was a DAV member and member of the Sutherland Methodist Church.

     Orlando passed away on June 5, 2023 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Warner.

     Left to cherish his memory are his 2 children, Jeanine (Ron) Luttenegger of Queen Creek, AZ and Cary (Beth) Wede of Lawton, IA; 2 grandchildren, Kayla Wede of Rapid City, SD and Jenna Wede of Omaha, NE;  2 sisters-in-law, Sylvia Schoenewe of Broken Arrow, OK and Janice Pulmanns of Sun City, CA other relatives and many friends.
