Myrtle L. Lorenzen

     Myrtle Louise Lorenzen passed away early Sunday morning, November 17, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa. Myrtle was born on December 11, 1913. She was 105 years old.

     She was born in Moneta, Iowa to Roy and Louise Pheteplace and attended grade school there. The family then moved to Des Moines where they lived for the next several years. Myrtle and her family made their next home in Hartley where Myrtle graduated from Hartley High School. At Hartley High she met her future husband Dale Lorenzen. She married Dale in 1934 and they had two sons, Joseph and Richard. She was a dedicated homemaker and parent.

      Myrtle and Dale moved to California in 1960 and lived there for seventeen years before returning to Hartley. Dale passed away in 1994. 

      Myrtle is survived by son Joseph, his wife Kathleen and their children Alexander and Heather who live in California as well as son, Richard, his daughter, Kathryn, and his wife Tracey who reside in Washington. Myrtle was predeceased by sister and brother in law Margaret and Edwin Zinn. She is survived by their two daughters, Mary Ager and Janet Uhler, who reside in Minnesota.

     Friends and family mourn her passing but rejoice in her memory. Final arrangements are private as requested by Myrtle.
