Michael "Mike" Allen Bottjen

With deep love, we announce the passing of Michael Allen Bottjen, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, who passed away on Friday June 19, 2026 at the age of 73. Michael was born on September 14,1952 in Anthon, Iowa.

Michael, Sergeant First Class, served in the army branch of the military from 1970 to 1977. He received many accolades, including the Army Commendation medal for his meritorious service as Motor Sergeant, demonstrating strong leadership and exemplary performance.

After his military service Michael returned to the states and continued to work and was a proud family man. Most recently, he and his wife Glenda traveled with Warren Properties as Property Managers throughout many states for 18 years until Michael retired.

Michael is survived by his wife Glenda and their three children: Josh (Julia) Bottjen, Christine (Todd) Bolkema, and Jeremiah Bottjen. He is also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Lorraine Bottjen, his sister Sandra Schreiber, and his nieces Ivy Clausen and Janna Mead.

His family will carry his memory forward through the lessons, stories, and love he gave so generously.
