     Michael Joseph Smith, the son of Francis and Loretta (Williams) Smith was born April 24, 1959 in Spencer, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Ayrshire, IA area, where he attended school and graduated from Ayrshire High School in 1978.

     Michael worked as a farm hand, a truck driver, Spencer Foods, the Heartland Press for 21 years and GCC Ready Mix until his retirement in 2020. He enjoyed snowmobiling, watching the Hawkeyes and Cyclones, riding his Harley, wood working, restoring things, hunting, his dogs, Barney and Molly and especially spending time with family and friends.

     Michael passed away on Thursday, October 7, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, NE, at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Rosanna and Kathy; 2 brothers, Patrick and Kenneth; and one nephew, Ben Smith.

     Left to cherish his memory are his 2 brothers, Larry (Laurel) Smith of Hartsburg, MO, and Jon Smith of Hiawatha, IA; 4 sisters, Deb (Greg) Steenblock of Ankeny, IA Mary Osborn of Muscatine, IA, Angela (Keith) Frideres of Algona and Cindy Harris of Akron, IA; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.




















SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 1:30 P.M., Thursday, October 14, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
*In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to People For Pets
