Mary lived in Vail, Iowa with her family until 1953 when they moved to Denison, Iowa. Mary attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School through the 8th grade, then finished high school at Denison High. Mary started working as a book keeper at Lyle Bunker Lumberyard and Tour of Homes.
Mary met the love of her life, Michael, roller skating in Ida Grove and in 1966 they became engaged. Mary and Mike dated for two years and were married on April 29, 1968. For ten years, Mary did day care and helped raise many friend’s children. Mary is still mom to lots of people.
In 1979, they moved to Spencer and Mary went to work for the Johnson family business for 25 years. Mary was their book keeper and assistant manager. Mary also took computer classes at ILCC and online at home. Mary has many friends that came to work at Stub’s Restaurant. Mary was a wonderful home maker. Mary enjoyed years of traveling with Mike and friends.
