     Mary Jean Jackson (McCarville) of Spencer, IA passed away in Omaha, NE on November 23, 2022 with family at her side.

     Mary was born in Chicago, IL on October 14, 1942 to Robert Owen McCarville and Helen Ann McCarville (Fairman).

     After graduating college from Rosary College, Mary spent most of her life as a teacher, educator and mentor.

     She met William “Bill“ Jackson and was married on November 26, 1966.  They had 3 children together.  Kathleen (Lausterer) Jean (Dragseth) and Edward.

     After the death of her husband Bill, Mary raised her 3 children as a single mother.  Her kids never went without, always knowing they were loved, safe, and secure.  She touched many people through her time as a teacher and educator.  Many thank you letters and cards were delivered to her thanking her for helping change their lives for the better.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen. Her in-laws, Roland and Berniece Jackson. Brother, Rev. John McCarville. Daughter, Jean Dregseth.   Son-in-law, Michael Wilson.

     She is survived by her brother, Mike McCarville and sister, Nora Wysocki (McCarville) both of Phoenix AZ.  Sister-in-law, Mary O’Brien of Spencer, IA. Brother-in-law, Jim (Connie) Jackson of Okoboji, IA.  Her 2 children, Kate (Jason) Lausterer of Omaha, NE and Ed (Vanessa) Jackson of New York, NY.  5 grandchildren, Hannah, Anne, Lille, Liam and Everett. As well as 20 nieces and nephews.

SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
