Marjorie Ann Lorenzen

Marjorie Ann Lorenzen, the daughter of Herman and Lillie (Spiegel) Helmers, was born in Sibley, Iowa, on March 20, 1934. She was raised and received her early education in Sibley, and then moved to Spencer in 1946 where she finished her education and graduated from Spencer High School in 1946.
On March 7, 1954, Marjorie married Burdette “Bud” Lorenzen at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Iowa. Marjorie and Bud owned and operated Bud’s Service for many years where she was the bookkeeper. She was active in the church and a volunteer at the Spencer Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marjorie passed away on July 5, 2019, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud in 2010; two daughters: Susan in infancy and Mary Kay Youde; and one brother, Richard Helmers.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ann Warburton and husband, Jim of Milford, IA; her son, Jim Lorenzen and wife, Suze of Spencer, IA; her grandchildren: Mike and Jessie Warburton and their children, Kinleigh and Kellen; David and Britni Warburton and their children, Ella and Emma; Jason and Kristi Goodchild and their children, Elise and William; and Justin and Annie and their children, Mayer and Logan; other relatives and many friends.
