Marion Jacob Roghair, the son of Jacob and Mary (Rozeboom) Roghair, was born October 20, 1930 in Maurice, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in Sanborn, Iowa, where he started school until his family moved to a farm just outside of Hartley, where he continued his education.  He entered the military in November of 1951 and served with the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in November of 1955.
