Marilyn Ann Meisheid, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on June 23, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on March 22, 1939, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Marilyn was a woman of warmth and resilience, who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn grew up in Everly, Iowa, where she graduated from Everly Community School. Her Parents were Alfred Bunker and Mabel (Totman) Bunker. Her life was marked by dedication and hard work. She was employed in various roles, including as a waitress, factory worker, and dietary aide at Northshire Nursing Home. Marilyn found joy in serving others, always putting their needs before her own.

On July 2, 1957, Marilyn married Don L. McCarty, December 16, 1968, she married, Ervin Edward Meisheid, embarking on a journey filled with cherished memories and love. Marilyn was especially devoted to her family, taking great pleasure and joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever possible. Her heart belonged not only to all her family but also to her dear sister, Dee, with whom she shared a truly special and unbreakable bond that brought her immense joy throughout her life.

Marilyn had an unwavering passion for cultivating friendships, connecting deeply with both old and new friends alike. Her generosity of spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Rita McCarty (Bill Marsh) of Omaha, NE, and Lisa (Chuck) Buckner of Bonita Springs, FL, sons, Max McCarty of Omaha, Don McCarty of Jonesborough TN, and Jeff Meisheid (Julie Houtkooper); her 7 grandchildren, Tara McCarty, Kristin (Kyle) Hoff, Colt (Becca) Miller, Dylan (Jackee) Miller, Doni (Jamie) McCarty, Sean McCarty (Bethany Dorian), Justin Patrick (Sabella) McCarty; her 12 great grandchildren, Tiyler Anderson, Michael Packett, Zayne Gale, Hope Gale, Everly and Brecklyn Hoff, Scarlett Miller, Oaklyn, Archer and Estee Miller, Chloe McCarty and Rowan Dorian, her sister Deloris Ellis. her 3 great-great grandchildren, Mia, Ayla and Remi Anderson

Her stepdaughter Pam Ackerson of Urbandale, IA, her step grandchildren, cousins and a loving community of family and friends who will honor her memory.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Mabel Bunker, Don McCarty and Ervin Meisheid

Funeral services will be held in the coming days, where we will gather to celebrate her life and share in the love and stories she inspired. Details regarding the ceremony will be communicated soon to all who wish to pay their respects.

Marilyn Ann Meisheid, though she has departed from this world, will forever remain in our hearts, a shining light of love and kindness. May she rest in eternal peace.
