Marilyn June Dewall

June 19, 1936 — June 25, 2022

Marilyn June DeWall, the daughter of Louis and Vivian (Schroder) Letscher, was born on June 19, 1936, in Pocahontas, IA. She was raised and received her early education in Pocahontas, graduating in 1957. After graduation, she moved to California and worked as a key punch operator.

     Marilyn married Alvin DeWall on February 6, 1960, in Lennon Grove, CA. Following their marriage, they moved back to Northwest Iowa and farmed for himself and many other people. The eventually settled in Spencer, and she started working for A&M Laundry in 1978 until her retirement in 1999 and then for Longhouse Residence until her retirement.

     She enjoyed reading, puzzles, word search and liked to watch shows and movies from the 1950’s, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.

     Marilyn passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2014 and one brother, Paul.

     Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joy DeWall of Spencer and her son, Jeff and his wife, Boni of Storm Lake, IA; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 9 siblings; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
