Marcia Jane Peters

     Marcia Jane Peters, age 88, of Harris, Iowa, died on December 15, 2022, at the Emery Place in Robins, Iowa.

     Marcia was born November 12, 1934, in Greene, Iowa, to Walter H. and Mildred M. (Berger) Boedeker. Her early childhood was spent in eastern Iowa before they moved onto Hartley, Iowa, and later Rochester, Minnesota in 1951.

    Marcia and her late husband of 50 years, Orville F. Peters, were married in 1954 and farmed near Harris, Iowa, for 42 years. Marcia worked for 30 years for the Harris-Lake Park school system. When home, she was well known for a large garden that graced many friends. Marcia was most recognized for her beautiful hand quilting, and she often donated the quilts to raise money for various charities. She was a member of Crafty Corner Bernina Club in Worthington.    

     Marcia was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.

    Marcia is survived by her son, Dale (Rita) Peters of Spencer, IA, and daughter, Nancy (Mike) Koster of Cedar Rapids, IA; three grandchildren: Stephanie Peters (Robert Graff III) of Minneapolis, MN, Jill Koster of Plymouth, MN, and David (Courtney Malo) Koster of Herndon, VA; two sisters: Elva Ellermann of Slidell, LA, and Donna Esquer of Yucaipa, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister.
