She grew up on that farm and attended school all 12 years in Gillet Grove, graduating from High School  in 1938.      Lucile married Joseph Beck on February 25, 1939 in Spencer, Iowa. She belonged to the Greenville Congregational Church and later the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Lucile and Joe purchased a home, on Center Lake, in the late 1970’s, and enjoyed living there, spending time with family and friends. Lucile and Joe moved back to Spencer in 1994. In her retirement she and Joe liked to travel throughout the United States, making several trips to Europe, and enjoyed spending several winters in Arizona and Texas.       Lucile was a resident of Longhouse Nursing Home for the last several years and passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 99.
