Lois Jean Hoelterhoff

June 21, 1930 — April 2, 2022


     Lois Jean Hoelterhoff, the daughter of Charles and Nora (Gross) Stuart was born June 21, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI. Her childhood years were spent in the Milwaukee area, where she attended school. She moved to Franklin Park, IL, where she graduated High School in 1948. She then went to work for International Harvester.

     Lois married Ernest Hoelterhoff on July 7, 1951 in Elmhurst, IL. She moved in with her parents while Ernest went to war. When he returned home, they moved to a farm in Addison, IL where they raised their four children. They moved to Spencer, IA in 1972 where she owned and operated 21 Century Lanes until her retirement.

     Lois enjoyed playing dominos, knitting, bird watching, bowling, attending her grandchildren’s events, and especially spending time with family. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and Women’s Bowling Association.

     Lois passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, IA at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.

     Left to cherish her memory are her 4 children, Charmayn (David) Faber of Spencer, IA, Vicki Somers of Spencer, IA, Nancy Ross of Holt, MO, and Kathy (Scott) Rouse of Spencer, IA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives; and many friends.

Memorial services will take place 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 30, at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
