Lois Ethlyn Fliss, the daughter of Conrad and Claaska (Meyer) Winterboer was born July 28, 1929 in Everly, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Everly area, where she attended school and graduated from Everly High School.
Lois married Virgil Fliss on August 5, 1948 in Everly, IA. She worked as a homemaker and helped Virgil on the farm. She enjoyed writing, gardening, being outdoors, music, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Lois was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer, IA, First Reformed Church in Everly, Clay County Federated Women's Club, Clay Co. Farm Bureau, Waterford Wonder Workers, Everly Kitchen Band and was involved in many church activities.
Lois passed away at St. Luke's Lutheran Home, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil, and three brothers: Elmer, Alvin and Arnold.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Mary Lee (Dr. Dennis) Somers of Sioux Falls, SD, Cindy Fliss of Everly, IA, Keith (Brenda) Fliss of Everly, IA and Gene Fliss (friend, Debbie) of Everly, IA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Alberta and Beverly; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 1:30 P.M., Monday, May 23, at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer.
