Lloyd Edward Duffney

     Lloyd Edward Duffney passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 19th 2023 due to renal complications.  

     Lloyd Edward Duffney (Ed), the son of Patricia and Lloyd Duffney Sr. was born on November 17th, 1969, in Rice County Minnesota. Ed was raised and resided in Spencer for the majority of his life and received his early education at Spencer High School and graduated in 1988 and then went on to Iowa Lakes. Ed was always a hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He worked several craftsman jobs and made many friends through his years of work at Freudenberg, Eaton Corporation and Shine Bros. Corporation. 

     Ed became a father on April 5th, 2000 to Sunny Carolina Duffney.  Ed and his former wife welcomed Maddox and Phoenix Duffney into his life through adoption on February 5th, 2017. Ed was a big family man and enjoyed going to every dance recital, softball game, wrestling match, and football game. He enjoyed watching Sunday football (go Raiders!), hunting, being a grill master, and simply being present with his family. One thing that made Ed incredibly special was his giant heart that had room for so many. He was a giver and loved very deeply. 

     In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be made out to The Ed Duffney Memorial Fund through Farmers Trust and Savings in Spencer, IA to help alleviate funeral costs.

     Ed is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Josephine Duffney whom he had a close relationship with.

     He is survived and deeply missed by his daughter, Sunny Duffney; his grandsons: Phoenix and Maddox Duffney; his brother, David Duffney; his sister, Erin Rooney and his father, Lloyd Duffney, Sr.
