Lisa was truly one of a kind. Simply indescribable, but we will try our best:
Known by her most beloved grandkids as “Cuckoo”. She lived life by her own rules. She cursed like a sailor. Cooked meals fit for kings. An incredibly talented singer and music lover. A giver, even when she had little to give. Free-spirited and strong-willed. Gentle, but rough around the edges. A hard worker who always showed up and never quit. A caretaker and homemaker. Quirky and quick-witted. Beautiful, inside and out. She welcomed everyone and was a friend to all. She loved hard and unconditionally—her family above all else. She enjoyed life on her front porch, drinking coffee or a “freshie”, watching her hummingbirds, and admiring her flower garden alongside her old dog Richie and her old man Don. Her proudest achievement in life was her kids and grandkids.
Lisa was born on September 4, 1964, in Spencer, Iowa, to Niles and Patricia Swancutt. She passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep at her home in Greenville, Iowa, at the age of 61.
Lisa leaves behind by her husband of thirty-four years, Don Scott; her children: Joseph Polson, Carly Scott (husband, Jeremy James), and Stevie Scott (partner, Alex Nuehring); her stepchildren: Windy (Luke) Dagel and Casey (Rachel) Erick; her godchild, Cora Drefke; her grandchildren: Natalie, Jack, America, Lennie, Carter, Liv, Levi, and Zoey; her mother, Patrica Swancutt; her siblings: Kevin Swancutt, Marianne (Kelvin) Puck, Sherri Webster, Keith (Karen) Swancutt, Kelly Swancutt; Don’s siblings: Kim (Terry) Woolery, Donna Koch, and Dean Scott; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her best friend, Bonnie Illg (Pee Wee); her daughter, Janelle Polson: her father, Niles Swancutt and Don’s parents, Donald and Patricia Scott.
