Linda Susan Madison

     Linda Susan (Smith) Madison , 73 of Spencer, Iowa is with her Heavenly Father. She died Monday, October 16, 2023 surrounded by her family at the Spencer Hospital after a sudden illness. Linda will be missed by her family, friends and her  beloved cat, SmokyJo. She graduated from Iowa State University and was a social worker for a number of years but her main passion was in the arts.

     She was united in marriage to Jerry Madison on May 24, 1969. To this union two daughters were born: Brendalee and Jennifer.

     She was a talented artist. Linda passed her love of garage sales, crafts,  thrift stores, and creating objects that were ugly to beautiful works of art to family & friends. People cherished and enjoyed her pieces of work. SmokyJo was her beloved cat that she would tell fun stories about and gave her great joy in her life.

     Preceded her death was her parents, Beverly & John Smith, and her brother, Dave Smith.

     She survived by her brothers: John Steven & Bob Smith, and sisters: Lorri Smajd and her husband, Ray of Des Moines, IA  and Jody Smith of Ankeny, IA; her  two daughters: Brendalee Schoning and her husband, Matt and their children: Darian Schoning & Megan Schoning of Spencer, IA and Jennifer Madison-Munsinger and her significant other, Michael Jacobson and their children: Lydia & Brooke of Story City , IA; her cat, SmokyJo, and many beloved nieces & nephews.
