Linda Lee Zech

Linda (Fairchild) Zech passed away on August 5^th, 2022 in Rock Rapids, Iowa at the age of 67. Linda was born October 4, 1954 in Spencer, Iowa to Irving “Jack” Fairchild and Margorie (Newcomb) Fairchild. She spent her childhood years in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School in 1973. Following her high school graduation, she moved to Minneapolis to continue her education.

     While living in Minneapolis, Linda met Franklin Zech and they married on June 21, 1975 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. After their marriage, they moved to Spencer, Iowa where they raised their two sons Patrick and Chas. Linda was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Spencer. She lived in Spencer until 2020 when she and her husband moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa to be closer to family. Linda was a passionate animal lover, having had many dogs throughout her life. She was also passionate about horses and enjoyed owning and riding several horses during her life. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her family grow with the birth of her grandchildren. She was a devoted Grandma who was always active in her grandchildren’s life.

     Linda was preceded in death by her husband Franklin and her parents. Surviving her and left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Patrick (Jenifer) Zech of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Chas (Esther) Zech of Rock Rapids, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kaiden, Miley, Ainsley, Charlotte, Elianna, Lillian, and Jack; one sister: Patsy (Fairchild) Workman of Rock Rapids, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
