Larry Lynn Anderson

     Larry Lynn Anderson, the son of John and Esther (Olson) Anderson was born November 12, 1935 in Ventura, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Ventura area, where he attended school and graduated from Ventura High School in 1954.

     Larry married Patricia Railsback on September 5, 1954 in Garner, IA. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, hunting different game, and fishing throughout the U.S. and Canada. He enjoyed playing card games, gardening, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and relaxing in his recliner on his summer porch. He was famous for his secret blue cheese recipe and was a very talented basketball player.

     Larry worked at an Auto Parts store in Mason City, IA before moving to Bettendorf, IA where he worked for Ford Auto-Lite and finally moved to Spencer, IA in 1963, working as a district manager for Ford Motor Company.  In 1974, Larry became the parts manager and later the General Manager at the Spencer Ford Dealership. Larry went into ownership as a partner in B&H Automotive Warehouse in 1976 and lastly worked as a Deputy County Assessor for Clay County until his retirement in 2000.

     Larry passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 2 brothers, Carroll and Robert (Bing) Anderson; 3 sisters, Maurine Coyer, Phyllis Jensen, and Lois Hanson; and 2 sons-in-law, Charles Fisher and Brad Zelinsky.

     Left to cherish his memory are his 3 children, Brenda Zelinsky of Spencer, IA, Jay (Shelley) Anderson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Todd (Nataliia) Anderson of Palm Beach, FL; 7 grandchildren, Tiffany, Suzanne, Sarah, Lindsay, Carly, Sydney, and Kari; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed (Betty) Anderson of Garner, IA; other relatives; and many friends.











SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 21, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
 *In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Larry's name.
