Larry Gene Bailey the son of David Samuel and Lillian Mae (Dutcher) was born on November 15, 1939, in Fort Dodge, IA. He was raised and received his early education there, graduating from South Junior High School.
Larry worked at IBP in Fort Dodge following high school. Larry then worked for the Morrell Company as a supervisor, his job took him to several different places like Estherville, Colorado and Council Bluffs. He then lived in Beresford, SD, and worked in Haywarden, Iowa, where he built grain bins.He retired in 1998.
Larry moved to Sutherland in 2017 to be closer to his daughter, Dianna. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his dogs, and he also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Dianna J. Reed and her husband, Douglas J. Reed, of Peterson, IA and their children: Kristine Brooks and her husband, Ryan of Spencer, IA, Matthew T. Soat of Spencer, IA, Jesse Reed, Spencer, IA. His daughter, Jody Bailey of Sioux Falls, SD, and her children: Kimberly Drees and her husband Dustin of Radcliffe, IA and Nicholas Vanderhoff of Ames, IA; His son, Mark Allan Bailey and his wife, Barb of Belmond, IA and their children: Joe Bailey of Hartley, IA and Jessica Bailey of Spencer, IA; Several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
