Kathleen Kay Daniels

Kathleen Kay Daniels, the daughter of Robert LeRoy and Mary Ann Engelkes Peters, was born October 12, 1968 in Hartley, Iowa. She received her early education in Hartley.

Kathy married Harry Daniels on May 28, 1989 at the Methodist Church in Sutherland, IA. To this union three children were born, Debra, Robert and Jennifer. Following their marriage, they lived on an acreage outside of Sutherland, then moved to Paulina and later Kathy moved to Sanborn. Kathy worked several years as a CNA which she loved caring for the residents and for the past 7 years as a CNC at Sekisui in Orange City, IA. In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed riding her horses and she belonged to the Saddle Club in Sutherland, camping, going to the Renaissance Fair and most of her solitude being outdoors on her acreage. Her greatest enjoyment and love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Kathy passed away on May 20, 2026 at the Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, IA at the age of 57. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane and brother, Bobby.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debra Schuknecht (friend, Scott Modder) of Hartley, IA, Robert (Cassandra) Daniels of Paulina, IA and Jennifer (Dillion) Hoiland of Ellsworth, MN; her grandchildren: Daniel, Donny, Hailei, Addison and Treyton; sisters: Roxann (Marty) Roth of Hartley, IA and Barbara (Larry) Hayden of Corydon, IA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
