Katherin Gail Prentice

     Katherin Gail Prentice, the daughter of John William and Bernice A. (Brinkley) Prentice, was born June 27, 1941,  in Spencer, IA.  She lived on a farm in the rural Gillett Grove area, where she received her education at Gillett Grove Consolidated Schools.  While in school, she played in band, sang in choir and played basketball and softball.  Katherin also was a member of the 4-H and showed cattle at the Clay County Fair.  She attended Community Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and summer bible school and was a member of the MYF Youth group.

     After graduation, she worked for the Northwest Bell Telephone Company in Spencer. She later transferred to Minneapolis, MN with the same company working in several departments retiring in 1990. She later worked in the office at King Koil Bedding for 5 years and then Medical Arts Press.  Katherin moved back to Iowa in 1997 and lived in Spirit Lake, IA.

      She passed away at the Accura Health Center in Spirit Lake, IA on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the age of 81.  Katherin was preceded in death by her parents, John & Bernice Prentice; two brothers: Bruce (Shirley) Prentice and Mike Prentice; a sister, Jean (Francis) Jackson; a niece Becky Samborski (Bruce/Shirley) and several furry friends.

      She is survived by a sister-in-law, Trish Prentice; nephews, Jerry & Danny Prentice and niece, Cindy Prentice (Bruce/Shirley); nephew, Rodney Jackson and niece, Jodi Preston (Jean/Francis);  nieces, Laura Clopton & Jill Prentice (Mike/Trish); and a large extended family of great nieces and nephews.
