Julie Elaine Helgeson

     Julie Elaine Helgeson, the daughter of Alfred “John” and Esther (Stanerson) Helgeson was born January 31, 1942 in Estherville, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Albert City, IA, where she attended school and graduated from Albert City Trusdale High School in 1960.

     Julie received her Associated Degree from Waldorf College, BA with majors in Music and Elementary Education from Luther College, Masters in School Guidance Counseling from University of Iowa, and Masters of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary. She lived in many places across the U.S., working in areas of education and even taught school in Germany. She enjoyed reading and had an extensive library. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Albert City, IA and played music for the Marathon Methodist Church.

     Julie passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Kossuth Regional Health Century in Algona, IA, at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Helgeson, a sister-in-law, Sharon Helgeson, and one nephew, Martin Helgeson.

     Left to cherish her memory are her brother, David Helgeson of Spencer, IA and her sister, Denise (David) Fritz of Clear Lake, IA; 4 nephews, Melvin and Phillip Helgeson, and Shawn and Steven Fritz; 2 nieces, Krista Lumbard and Kelly Habben; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 11, at Fairfield Cemetery in Albert City, IA.
