Judith Nibbelink

     Judith (Brees) Nibbelink, 77, of Aurelia, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at Careage Hills Nursing Home on October 12th after a hard fought battle with cancer. 

     Judy was born on June 26th, 1946 in Cherokee, Iowa to Loma (Robinson) and Wilbur Brees. She graduated from Sioux Valley High School in Linn Grove, Iowa and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to study medical technology at Northwest Institute of Medical Technology. Judy worked at the medical facility in Hartley, Iowa and in Austin, Minnesota before returning to Minneapolis to work for the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.

     After retirement, Judy came back to the Aurelia area where she married Willard Nibbelink on September 16th, 2006. They enjoyed spending time with their puppies, going for side-by-side rides and traveling together. In her spare time, Judy loved quilting, reading, and spending time with her friends including those in the Afton Community Club. 

     Judy is survived by her husband; Willard of Aurelia, siblings; Jean Brees Schaefer (Donavon) of Aurelia, Doug Brees of Peterson, nephews; Kory (Jennifer) of Aurelia, Jason Brees of Meriden, great-nephews; Tucker and Kooper Burch and Jaxon Brees, stepchildren; James Nibbelink (Vonda) and Tim Nibbelink (Kris), stepdaughter-in-law Shelly Nibbelink, step grandchildren; Dominic, Jessa, Luke, Peyton, Eden, Jackson, Addie and many other close relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents Loma and Wilbur, stepson, Josh Nibbelink and a step granddaughter, Emma.
