Juan Fernando Martinez

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Juan (Pilo) Fernando Martinez, Jr, November 29, 2022, at Spencer, Iowa. He was born to Petra "Betty" Luna, in Post,  Texas and lived most of his life in Garden City, Kansas. He was an avid sports fan.

Juan is survived by his wife Veronica Martinez, daughter, Jessica; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Luna of Spencer, Iowa, Johnny Martinez of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Ignacio "Natch" Carrasco of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Bertha & Uraldo Garcia of Schuyler,  Nebraska,  Debbie & Scott Cecil of Ozawkie, Kansas; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Juan was preceded in death by his mother,  two sisters, Margarita "Margie" Salas, Dorothy Lee Schmidt and Valerie Devon Lauber.

Fernando was loved by his church family at Foundation Church in Spencer Iowa. 

A memorial portion of service at Foundation Church will be led by Rev. Nicholas Hanges at a later date.

There will be a private family service in Great Bend, Kansas at a later date.
