Jo Ann Ullmann

Jo Ann Ullmann, daughter of Harry and Genevieve (Holland) Friedley was born November 4, 1935 in Waterloo, Iowa.  Her mother passed away 2/2/38 prior to Jo Ann's 3rd birthday.  Jo Ann graduated in 1953 from Ayrshire Consolidated High School.

She met the love of her life at the Woodcliff where Heinz bartended part-time on weekends.  Heinz and Jo Ann were married May 22, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Ayrshire, IA. They began their life together in Spencer, moved to Potato Lake near Park Rapids, MN in 1992, and returned to Spencer in 2010.

Jo Ann passed away on February 8, 2022 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 86.  She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Loolah (Morris) Friedley, husband, Heinz, and sister, Nancy Resh.

Left to cherish her memory are son Ken (Marilyn) Ullmann of Spencer, IA and daughter Karen Ullmann of Ocheyedan, IA; 2 grandaughters, Kristin (John) Hass and Maggie Ullmann, both of Spencer, IA; 5 great-grandchidren, Kaiden, Ethan, Oliver, Mason, and Emily; 2 sisters, Myrt Swanson of Spirit Lake, IA and Bobbie (Stan) Davis of Glendale, AZ; plus other relatives and friends. 

Private Family Services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022

There will be no public visitation
