Jerry Roger Coffman

Jerry Roger Coffman, the son of Jack and Florence (Mansmith) Ogle, was born November 20, 1935 in Carroll, IA.  He was raised in Arnolds Park, IA, where he attended school. Following his schooling, Roger enlisted with the United States Navy and served until his Honorable Discharge.

    Roger married Doris Schoning, to this union two sons where born, Rodney and Ryan.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Fostoria.  Roger worked at the Spencer Pack for 18 years.  He then owned and operated J.R. Cleaning Service with his son, Ryan.  He also owned and operated R.C. Jigg’s.  Roger was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spencer.  In his spare time, Roger enjoyed tying jigs for many years.  He was an avid outdoors man, an excellent hunter and fisher man.

     Roger’s wife, Doris passed away in 1998.  He met Shirley Lowe two years later and the two of them enjoyed doing things together for 20 years.  They met at a dance and continued dancing to old time music and loved the Waltz.

     Roger passed away on February 16, 2020 at Northshire Residence in Spencer at the age of 84.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris and a sister, Darlene Maranell.

          Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Shirley Lowe of Spencer, IA; two sons: Rodney (Audrey) Coffman of Arnolds Park, IA and Ryan Coffman of Spencer, IA; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his dog, Buster Brown; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church in Spencer.
