Jeriann ‘Annie’ Golden-Smith, the daughter of Jerry and Marge (Wilberding) Golden, was born April 1, 1954, in Logan, Iowa. She lived in the communities of Magnolia, Iowa, Blencoe, Iowa, Washta, Iowa, Marcus, Iowa, and Round Lake, Minnesota, before moving to Spencer, Iowa, in 1965, when her father went to work for Sportsman’s. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1972, and later lived in Ozark, Alabama; Tempe, Arizona; and Primghar, Paullina and Sutherland, Iowa.
During her life, she sang with several bands and even tried her hand at singing radio commercials. She worked as an advertising director for a newspaper, managed a medical equipment store, and was a caregiver for mentally and physically challenged adults.
Annie passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the age of 65. She was preceded in death by her parents; and twin sons, Jesse and Joshua Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Justin (Tonya) Smith of Inwood, Iowa; daughter, Jorden (Jesse Yender) of Early, Iowa; brother, Tom (Carole) Golden of Miami, Florida; sisters: Lori (Allen) Meyer of Ringsted, Iowa, and Lisa (Ron) Loof of Colorado Spring, Colorado; grandchildren: Savannah and Jorja Smith, Cayden Christensen, and Brynlee Yender; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
