Jane M Domino

June 23, 1957 — May 31, 2026

Everly, IA

Jane Margaret Domino, 68, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Spencer, Iowa.

Jane was born Jane Margaret Schulte on June 23, 1957, in Sac City, Iowa, to John A. Schulte and Mary-Louise Schulte. She graduated from Sac High School in 1975 and went on to pursue a life rooted in care, service, and compassion. She became an LPN through Rochester Area Vocational-Technical College, earned her RN from Iowa Lakes Community College, and later received her bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Buena Vista in Storm Lake.

Jane embodied a caregiver’s heart, whether through her work as an RN or in her life as a loving mother. She was fiercely protective of her children and loved them deeply. Jane was witty, kind, honest, and forever her true self. She was a friend to all and was always there for anyone who asked.

Jane was deeply spiritual, a survivor in every sense, and as tough as they come. She faced life with strength, grit, humor, and honesty, carrying herself with a resilience that those who loved her will never forget.

Jane had a remarkable intelligence and a razor-sharp wit. She loved word puzzles and the quiet satisfaction of a clever turn of phrase. She was known for writing beautifully crafted letters that were bright, layered, funny, and often filled with inside jokes, coded references, and the kind of wit that only Jane could deliver. Her exquisite handwriting and meticulous ledgers were their own art form, reflecting the care, precision, and individuality she brought to everything she did.

Jane also had a generous heart. She often made small, meaningful donations to causes she cared about, including St. Jude, animal conservation efforts, and organizations that reflected her compassion for children, animals, and those in need.

Jane had a loving and unique relationship with each of her children and siblings. Her love was steady, loyal, and deeply felt, and those who were loved by Jane knew the strength and sincerity of that love.

Jane was an animal lover, a caretaker of plants, and a devoted companion to her beloved cat, Margo. She loved watching and feeding birds and squirrels, tinkering around her house, collecting little trinkets and treasures, and spending time outside mowing and working in her yard. Jane loved all things weather-related, especially the drama of sensationalized weather news and tracking storms as they rolled across the map. She had a wonderful skill for giving thoughtful gifts, often finding just the right thing for someone she loved. And while she may not be remembered as a great cook, she will certainly be remembered for the laughter, warmth, honesty, and heart she brought into every room.

Jane was formerly married to Kim Domino, with whom she shared two children, Aaron and Alexandra.

Jane is survived by her son, Aaron Domino and his wife, Joanna Domino; her daughter, Alexandra Elliott and her husband, Justin Elliott; her granddaughter, Savannah Cain; and her daughter, Kamila Hofmeyer and her partner, Daniel Hight. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike Schulte, Frank Schulte, Chuck Schulte, and Mary-Ann Bohnenkamp. She is also survived in love by Khristin Hach, for whom Jane proudly claimed honorary mother status.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. Schulte and Mary-Louise Schulte, and her sister, Barbara Ann (Schulte) Eckert.

Jane’s family will remember her with deep love and gratitude for the life she lived, the care she gave, and the person she always remained: loving, honest, protective, spiritual, resilient, brilliant, witty, and unmistakably herself.

St. Anthony, Guide of Pilgrims, direct my steps in the straight path. Protect me until I am safely home in heaven. Help me in all my needs and difficulties..."
