Iris June Franker

Iris June Franker, the daughter of Eibe and Alma Hansen Wilken, was born June 28, 1929 in Dickinson County, Iowa.  Iris was raised on a farm south of Rossie and graduated from the Cornell High School.  She then attended business school in Omaha, NE.

     Iris married Robert Ray Franker on November 7, 1948 at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, IA.  After their marriage, they continued to live in Royal.  Iris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Royal.  Bob and Iris moved to Spencer and became members of Christ The King Lutheran Church.  She also volunteered at the Spencer Hospital and as a Hospice worker.  She was a faithful wife, mother, and loving grandmother.

     Iris passed away at Millpond Retirement Community in Ankeny, IA on February 18, 2021 at the age of 91.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; son, Kevin and her daughter-in-law, Michelle;  3 sisters; one in infancy and Mary Sundberg and Doris Jespersen.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Michael Franker and Lisa (Kevin) Baker; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Fredericks; and a host of family and friends.

SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer.



In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to Iowa Great Lakes Lutheran School or Christ The King Lutheran Church.
