Harriet Tesch

Harriet Arlene Tesch, 89, was born on March 9, 1937 in Sioux Center. The daughter of Teunis and Dena (Zeutenhorst) Jansen.

Harriet grew up on a farm outside of Sioux Center until moving to town. Harriet completed school up to the eighth grade, then graduated from business school in Sioux City, Iowa years later. She met Eldon while attending business school and they married on July 23, 1959 after which they were blessed with two children, Brad and Brenda.

Harriet worked as a bookkeeper for Eldon’s feed business. Then for 17 years as a snack bar cook for Marriott Food Services at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Harriet was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Milford, Iowa. Harriet enjoyed playing cards and computer games, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Harriet is survived by her son Brad (Barb) Tesch (Fountain Hills, AZ); her daughter Brenda Tesch (Spirit Lake, IA); her grandchildren Allison (Jess) Reed (Timnath, CO) and Travis Tesch (Seward, NE). She also had two great grandchildren Tenly & Tanner Reed; and one sister Thelma (Ron) Van Zee of Sioux Center, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Teunis and Dena; her husband Eldon; and 9 siblings.
