Harold Wilhelm Robinson

October 25, 1956 — November 7, 2022

Spencer

Harold Wilhelm Robinson, the son of John and Klara Robinson was born on October 25, 1956 in Ft. Huachuaca, AZ. The middle child of five in a military family he spent his early years in Germany, Japan and Washington state.  Harold graduated from Parkland High School in Parkland WA in 1975 and went on to study electrical engineering ROTC at University of Utah.  He attended for one year and then went to Alaska and found his way onto a crab fishing boat.  After crabbing Harold moved back to Washington. In 1980 Harold married Adele Ziesel.  They had two daughters, Kelly and Katherine.  They lived in Washington, Denver and then back to Washington.  Harold owned his own concrete business and did federal contracting for many years in California, Hawaii and Washington.

In 2005 Harold moved to Iowa and in 2006 married Kim Sherman.   Kim had two young sons at the time, TD and Tucker and a grown son, Jonathan. Harold was pumping concrete at the time and driving truck on the off season. The last several years he had been an over the road truck driver.

Harold was an avid skier most of his life, learning in Germany and skiing all over Washington and Colorado mostly in the bowls and backside. Harold learned to fly when he was 16 and got his instrument rating later in life, he loved everything about flying.  He also loved the water and fishing in the ocean and missed it tremendously.

Harold loved to learn and could figure out most anything, a real jack of all trades. He had a big heart and cared deeply for his family, putting their comfort over his needs and wants.  He gave generously and without question. He was always available, always answered his phone if you called.

Harold put his faith in Jesus Christ when he was in his late 40’s. He loved to read his Bible, read books pertaining to it and listened to sermons on the road.  He enjoyed being a trustee and fixing whatever he could at First Baptist where he was a member.

Harold passed away suddenly at home on Monday November 7th.  Preceding Harold in death are his parents, one sister, Shirley and a brother-in law, John.

Left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Kim of Spencer, his children: Kelly Robinson (fiancé Mitch Olivier) of Lafayette, LA, Katherine Robinson of Seattle, WA, Jonathan Sheets of Columbus, Ohio, TD (Sarah & Elijah)Sherman of Lincoln, NE and Tucker Sherman (Jess Danielle) of Corona, CA,; Sisters: Julie Bowlby of Puyallup, WA, Betty Hobbs of Graham, WA; Brother, John Robinson Jr.;  Mother-in-law: Audrey Thiessen of Spencer.
