Hannah Marie Thiesse

Hannah Marie Thiesse, age 35, died unexpectedly due to complications from emergency surgery on new years day. She was born on August 30, 1990, in Rochester, MN to Jim and Theresa Thiesse. Hannah was one year old when she moved to Spencer where she spent most of her life.

Hannah attended Spencer High School from 2004 to 2008. She had a love for music shown through participation in show choir, singing the national anthem at games, learning to play guitar from Chad Elliott, and was selected for the All State Choir her junior year. After high school, she proceeded to Capri Cosmetology school in Cedar Rapids. Graduating in 2011, she moved back to Spencer and started her career at JCPenney’s salon. She soon opened her own salon, A Salon To Dye For. As a talented cosmetologist, Hannah was known for her infectious laugh, fierce personality, and ability to connect deeply with her clients.

Hannah and Jared Rossow welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Evey Jo Rossow, in October 2015. Evey was the light of Hannah’s life and the bond they shared was a beautiful reflection of how much Hannah loved her. Together they enjoyed craft projects, outdoor activities, fishing, and trips to Lake Okoboji.

Hannah was known for her compassion and her instinct to care for others, especially in moments of need. She had a soft spot for the underdog and a fierce belief in standing up for those who were overlooked. She was also passionate about her pets and renovating her home.

Hannah is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her daughter, Evey Rossow; her mother, Theresa Thiesse; and her father, Jim Thiesse. She is also survived by her older sister Amanda Thiesse (John Meyer) and two children, Phaedra and Winona; her younger sister Natalie (Austin) Zupec and her son, Vinny; and her younger sister Laura (Matthew) Guyer and her daughter, Gemma. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Everyone is invited to the Spencer Golf and Country Club following the service for a time of fellowship and luncheon with the family.
