Gordon Arthur Wilson

Gordon Arthur Wilson, the son of Seifert and Vera Tuttle Wilson, was born May 29, 1927 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, Iowa, where he received his education. Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII from May 1945, until his honorable discharge in September of 1946. Gordon married Beverly Brown on March 17, 1947 in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer, where he worked for Spencer Foods for over 30 years. They also enjoyed living at the summer home in Canada over the years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spencer. Gordon was also involved with the VFW and the Legion Auxiliary. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and fishing and excelled in hunting with a bow and arrow. Gordon passed away at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents; 3 sisters: Margaret Briley, Faye Ann (Bobbie) Dornner and Mildred Wilson in infancy and 4 brothers: Edward, Ervin, Ralph in infancy and Frederick (Ted). He is survived by two daughters: Jeanne and her husband, Eric Lamberson of San Francisco, CA and Kathy Wilson of San Jose Del Cabo Baja, Mexico; one grandson, Jay Gardner of Sylmar, CA; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Clara and her husband, Otis Marcley of Spencer, IA; one brother, Oral Wilson and his wife, Ethel of Milford, IA; a brother-in-law, Bruce and his wife, Joan Brown; his niece, Krystal who shared his home for the last 3 � years of his life and her children: Kim, Mike & Michelle; the entire Tuttle clan; his 17 year old cat, Peaches and his cat, Willow; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. A Military Flag Presentation will be held following the services at the funeral home and will be conducted by VFW Clay County Post #3159 of Spencer, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will be from 3 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
