Gerald "Jerry" Stevenson

   Gerald “Jerry” Stevenson, the son of James and Mary (Cenek) Stevenson, was born on April 23, 1940 in New Hampton, Iowa, one of ten siblings.  At a young age his family moved to Spencer, Iowa where he resided until his death in 2024.   Jerry loved Arizona from the time of his first visit and soon became a Winter Snowbird enjoying the warmer weather, staying in between Scottsdale and Apache Junction until the Spring of 2021.   Jerry passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

   In 1968 he married Susan Noel.  Sue had two children from a previous marriage, Dawn and Jon, who were raised from a very young age considering Jerry as a dad.  Jerry and Sue had one daughter, Amber, who was raised by him at the time of their divorce.  Jerry owned a Construction Company where he built numerous homes, did concrete work and other numerous projects.  He was a master craftsman and loved designing and building homes, and anything else that he could imagine.  Jerry was an avid Gambler who always seemed to have the golden touch and had many winning streaks.

   Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Amber Champine and Dawn Maze; six grandchildren, Maverick Snider, Holly Maze, Cassidy Perkins, Zealand Maze, Sierra Norris, and Chase Francis; six great grandchildren; one brother, Fran Stevenson and his wife, Stacia; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Stevenson; and many other relatives and close friends.

   Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary; son, Jon Francis, surrogate son, Frank Jones; siblings: Luverne, Bill, Geraldine, Delores, Donnie, Irvin, Cleatus, and Alice; and Best Friend, Cliff Handy.
