Georgia Rose Jensen

    Georgia Rose Jensen, daughter of George Albert and Florence Isbella (Leonard) Gathman, was born on July 15, 1934 in Hartley, IA. She graduated from Hartley High School where she played basketball. 

     On March 21, 1954, Georgia married Robert Jensen in Hartley. Following their marriage, they farmed the family farm near Moneta. Georgia enjoyed working outdoors, driving tractors and particularly loved flower gardening. For over 60 years, she and Robert gathered with their lifelong friends to socialize and play 500. She also loved playing cards with her bridge club friends for many years. Georgia and Robert enjoyed spending time at their lake house, traveling and visiting all of their grandchildren. They moved to Spencer in 2010.  

     Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bonnie.

     Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert; their children, Randy Jensen of Hartley, Martia Jensen of Hartley, and Monica Jensen Oggero and husband, Matt of Laughlintown, PA; grandchildren: George L. Oggero, R. Walter Oggero and Pierce Jensen; her sister, Marjorie Brehmer of Spencer, IA; nieces and nephews,  and other relatives and friends.
